Podcasting

I had a great time at the Library of Congress. You know the whole media specialist/book thing. I knew that there was some podcasting available, but didn't until this class have time to explore it. I really enjoyed watching Doreen Cronin. Her and Harry Bliss read their book Diary of a Spider. Since then they have released a new title Diary of a Fly. If you haven't checked these out, do!

The Water Buffalo movie was extremely interesting. My school studies a country every year and we are currently studying Vietnam. I knew water bufffalo were very important to them and it was nice to see the video to go along with what I already knew about water buffalo. It was also nice to go to learn out loud and podcastalley.

Podcasting is new to me and I think this week was my favorite. I think that every week! I just love gettting to know what is out there.

As far as podcasting at my school, I would love to see children doing book talks of their favorite books to put on the school website. How cool would that be!

I can only imagine that one day near student will turn in weekly assignments as a podcast or a video production or slide show or a combination to share and reflect on what they are learning.

Good thought provoking post.

I love your idea of using the podcast to share book reports. I took a class in library science where I told about book on baseball. One of the options was to video tape the book talk. I dressed like a baseball player and my husband video taped the talk at the ball field. Just think. . . students could be doing book reports in a whole new way!
